Granada

One of the places I've visited in my recent travels over the last month has been Granada.  My favourite city in Spain.  The energy of the population - perhaps attributable to the high number of students - to the beauty of the buildings and the history resonating from the building blocks.

I stayed in the Albaycin area, the old Jewish quarter - a maze of tiny cobblestoned streets.

Market fruit

Ubiquitous paella

Alhumbra grandeur

Friendly folk of all ages.
Pomegranates grow all over Granada - which means pomegranate!

Granada means pomegranate and this is evident as there are not only pomegranates growing abundantly on the streets, in the gardens...but also street posts are shaped like pomegranates and pomegranate carvings adorn many buildings.

Like most of Spain...music in all streets

  1. I LOVE GRANADA TOO!

And my comment to your last photo of music in all the streets - what about all the sexy men playing music in the streets?! Spain has a seriously high good looking man ratio.
